Speech and actions
No one gets out alive. This is the centerpiece of Tom Rath’s It’s Not About You. The idea is that we think of our time on earth as finite.
Because.
Because...contribution begins when you see a world beyond yourself.
As the clouds bring rain and the earth brings fruits, our speech and actions have the power to produce outcomes.
Outcomes that go on to become representatives of our souls.
Outcomes that live on...long after we’re gone.
It’s an uncomfortable but important concept.
Yet.
Yet, when we make peace with this idea, we are better able to focus on what matters the most.
Speech and actions are choices. Likewise, silence and inaction. We are always choosing. Daily. Consciously. And subconsciously.
Choose accordingly.
