Bad ideas

Whoever said there’s no such thing as a bad idea must have been a drunk. Of course, there are bad ideas. In fact, there are truly awful ideas.

Bad ideas alone are not dangerous. They’re dangerous when acted upon. And, the worst kind of idea is the bad idea proposed by a domineering person. Beware of these types of ideas, because the idea sponsor will beat everyone else into submission.

Put bad ideas on the table. Discuss them thoroughly, because bad ideas sometimes lead to good ones. Then, divert the energy behind a bad idea to an idea that will actually work. You can say, “That’s interesting. How can we change or modify it?”
