Charmin took a cheeky approach to brand awareness. The *ahem” bathroom experts created an app called Sit or Squat.
It simply allows users to map out restrooms across the country and rank them according to their sitability or squatability.
To date, over 100,000 restrooms have been mapped. The app is free. And so is all the brand awareness and advertising Charmin has enjoyed from it. You can’t buy Charmin from the app, but you will surely remember them the next time you visit the paper aisle. Or a public restroom on a road trip.
