Whose spoon is it?

McDonald’s had a problem. Their problem was that their coffee stirrers were shaped like spoons in the 1970s. So, drug addicts transformed the stirrers into cocaine shovels. Nicknamed the McSpoon, Mickey D’s coffee stirrers were often used for sniffing coke back in those days.

So, what did McDonald’s do? They yanked the McSpoons off the shelf.

When you make stuff and put it out to the world, you rarely have control over how it would be used. But, no business is well-served by being associated with illegal activities. The good news is that we always have the choice to take responsibility and change course.
